Gala of Hope Foundation Awards Grant to Pink Ribbon Girls for Local Cancer Awareness and Support

For immediate release

Dayton, Ohio- Gala of Hope Foundation is pleased to build upon their ongoing partnership with Pink Ribbon Girls (PRG) by awarding a $45,000 grant to promote education, encourage early detection, and provide transportation for PRG clients.

The grant provides upgrades and maintenance to several transportation and mobile units:

  • The Hope in Motion is a 30-foot Airstream® trailer that is furnished with incredible, hands-on simulation technology to educate individuals of all ages on breast and gynecological health. Equipped with interactive displays, visitors to the mobile unit will have the opportunity to compare healthy simulated breast tissue against areas of cancerous and benign tumor simulation. The Hope in Motion mobile unit will travel to universities, hospitals, large workplaces, community gatherings, fundraisers, churches and health fairs. PRG is excited to get Hope in Motion out into the community! To request Hope in Motion be a part of your event, please email hopeinmotion@pinkribbongirls.org.

  • PRG clients are also being served with a client transportation vehicle. With this replacement vehicle, PRG will continue to provide over 250 rides to or from treatment this year in the Dayton region.

“PRG is honored to partner with Gala of Hope on our Hope in Motion Initiative, which provides education to promote early detection for both breast and gynecological cancers. We love to collaborate with other non-profits, and we are all working toward the same goal, bringing more who battle cancer to survivorship,” said Heather Salazar, CEO of Pink Ribbon Girls. “We are excited to be hitting the road after the pandemic, as we know too well, cancer didn’t stop for covid.”

The generous investment into the health and well-being of our community will further the Gala of Hope’s mission “to change the face of cancer in the Dayton region.”
