Application Process:

Letter of Inquiry

Organizations that have never received funding, or past grantees requesting funds for a new project, are encouraged to submit a one-page Letter of Inquiry before submitting a formal proposal.

Inquiries are accepted on a rolling basis and will be reviewed to determine alignment with the Foundation’s mission and funding priorities. If the inquiry falls within the Foundation’s grantmaking guidelines, applicants will be invited to submit a formal proposal that will be considered alongside other applications during the next competitive grant cycle.

Application Deadlines

Completed Applications are accepted twice per year, with deadlines on April 30 and September 30.

Completed applications and all supporting documents should be submitted to information@galaofhope.net. An email confirmation of submission will be provided within ten (10) business days of receipt of the application.

Approval Process

All funding proposals will undergo a thorough review, which ensures the

Foundation complies with all legal requirements for charitable giving. In addition to considering the written proposal, Foundation staff and board members may make a site visit or meet with the prospective grantee.

Priority is given to proposals that demonstrate:

  • A strong foundation of financial and operational stability

  • A clear implementation strategy and timeline

  • Adequate staffing and infrastructure to deliver results

  • Capacity for ongoing sustainability and meaningful community benefit

Grant Decisions

All grant decisions are made by the Board of Directors. The full board meets to consider grant applications two times per year, typically in June and December. Grantseekers who have submitted applications will be notified of the Board’s decision by June 30 and December 31, respectively.

Outcome Reporting

Grantees will be required to submit written reports about funded projects, including financial accounting of the expenditure of awarded funds. A reporting schedule and a list of questions to be included in outcome reporting will be sent to the grantee upon execution of a grant agreement. Failure to submit required reports will indefinitely disqualify a grantee from future funding.

Confidentiality:

The Foundation has implemented safeguards designed to protect the confidentiality of preliminary inquiries, grant proposals and supporting materials. Any information collected during the grant application and review process will be used and disclosed by the Foundation in accordance with its privacy policy. Although adequate safeguards have been implemented, the Foundation cannot guarantee the confidentiality of ideas, concepts or other information included in submission materials. The Foundation, therefore, encourages applicants to take reasonable steps to protect any information, including intellectual property, submitted to the Foundation.
