OUR MISSION:

Today, 25 residents in the Dayton region will hear, “You have cancer,” and 9 battling cancer will perish.

Ohio is #1 in new cancer incidences and #9 in cancer deaths among all 50 states and in 2024 is projected to see 76,280 new cases and 24,810 deaths.

The 14-county Dayton region has significant cancer incidences and deaths, higher than any other part of Ohio. In 2024, 9,306 Dayton-area residents will become cancer patients and 3,200 who are battling cancer will perish.

Cancer is the leading cause of death in most of the 14-county Dayton region and a leading cause in the rest. Lung, Breast, and Prostate cancer are the most prevalent cancers.

Gala of Hope serves patients in all 14 of these counties.
