Organizations interested in applying should ensure alignment with our funding focus and eligibility guidelines before submitting a proposal: 


Nonprofit status:

 

Applicants must be tax-exempt under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3). 


Impact Focus:

 

We fund organizations engaged in one or more of the following:

  • Research, through academic or healthcare entities, to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

  • Support and advocacy services for cancer patients, survivors and their families.

  • Access-focused efforts, including programs that expand availability of cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.


Geographic Focus: 


We serve the 14-county Dayton Region, as defined by the Dayton Development Coalition. Grants are directed to organizations operating within this region and directly benefiting individuals who live here. We prioritize organizations that are well-integrated in the communities they serve, and that demonstrate meaningful collaboration with other partners in the cancer care ecosystem.

There is no minimum or maximum allowable grant request, however multi-year funding requests may not exceed four (4) years. Funding proposals should reflect a reasonable proportion of the overall project or program budget, and demonstrate support from other revenue sources, funders or community partners.



All proposals are reviewed by our Board of Directors, which includes professionals with deep expertise in research, healthcare, and nonprofit program operations. The Board looks for strong, effective proposals that align with our mission and funding priorities.

The Foundation does not fund:

  • Grants or loans to individuals (for information regarding patient support please refer to XXXX link out to Patient Support info page)

    Scholarships or tuition assistance for graduate/ postgraduate studies

  • Travel

  • Endowments or endowed chairs

  • General/unrestricted contributions to annual or capital campaigns

  • Loan or emergency funds, or requests to discharge pre-existing debts

  • Religious organizations for religious purposes

  • Political campaigns or activities affiliated with political parties

  • Projects that are typically the funding responsibility of federal, state or local government.

  • Sponsorships or fundraising events

  • Organizations based outside of the United States

  • Any organization that discriminates on the basis of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, race, religion, ability, or economic background.
