Gala of Hope Adds Board Leadership

 
 

Beavercreek, OH, February 25, 2021—Gala of Hope Foundation announces the appointment of four new members to its Board of Directors. The new appointments are Kim Belcastro, community leader; Roy Chew, retired president of Kettering Health Network; Carly Cox, of JJR Solutions; and Cameron McGregor of Ms. Medicine, Cincinnati. 

“Gala of Hope is blessed to build on visionary leadership and counsel,” shared Jeff Brock, Executive Director. “These four join a board deeply passionate to diminish cancer and its effects on our region and ultimately send it into the sunset.  Their guidance and experience will help Gala push back against cancer even more in our region.”

Kim Belcastro

Kim lives in Kettering and is a native of Dayton. She is married to Dr. Marc Belcastro, for over 41 years. They are blessed with 3 grown married children and 9 grandchildren!

She currently serves on the Board of the Life Enrichment Center, where she worked as the Director of Administration and Board Secretary/ Treasurer before retirement to care for her grandchildren. Kim is an emeritus member and immediate past board chair of the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees. She also serves on the Operations Team at her church. 

Kim has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. She has been a Friendship Bible Coffees Leader, Bible Study Fellowship Treasurer, past president of the Auxiliary to the Dayton Osteopathic Association, MVH Associates Council Member, MVH NICU Steering Committee Member, Five Seasons Sports Club Board Member and has taught Sunday School for over 20 years and looks forward to teaching again.  Kim has completed Level One of Biblical Counseling Training.

Kim and Marc attend Apex Community Church and are involved in two vibrant House Church Small Groups.


ROY CHEW

Roy recently retired as President of Kettering Health Network where he served for 43 years in various positions of administrative responsibility.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Kettering Health Network as well as the boards for several of its hospitals and foundations.

Roy has served on several boards including Accreditation Association for Hospitals and Health Systems (AAHHS), Bureau of the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, Ohio University Center for Osteopathic Research and Education, American Hospital Association Region 5, Wilmington College, and Kettering College.  Roy has received several awards for community service including the Dayton Area Citizen Legion of Honor Award, the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Leader of the Year Award, the United Health Solutions Dedicated to Children and Families Award, United Way Community Services Award, and Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine Phillips Medal of Public Service.

Roy served the Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church as a Deacon for 20 years and currently serves as an Elder, a role he has served in for the past 15 years. He enjoys being involved with the church board and its mission.

Roy earned a B.S. from the University of Missouri, an M.S. from the University of Dayton, and his Ph.D. from Stanford University.


CARLY COX

Carly is President & COO of JJR Solutions, LLC responsible for executing company strategy and stewarding company financial performance, quality operations, and client experience. As a life-long dreamer and problem solver, she finds joy and meaning in creating and building solutions to complex challenges. She is passionate about engagement, culture, and helping develop systems to sustain these important organizational facets at scale. Prior to joining JJR Solutions in 2015, Carly held successive leadership positions within the defense industry, including 9 years at Peerless Technologies, focused on contracts management and program execution. 

A mother of two and a Christian, Carly is passionate about using her skills and talents to serve her community especially in the areas of childhood health and well-being.  

Carly holds a master’s degree in acquisition, a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership, and certification in Federal contract management. She serves on NCMA’s Standards Consensus Body (SCB) developing and approving ANSI accredited contract management standards for the acquisition and contract management profession. She is also a past recipient of Dayton Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 Award. 


CAMERON MCGREGOR

Cameron is Chief Operating Officer for Ms. Medicine, a national primary and specialty healthcare organization specializing in comprehensive, longitudinal, women’s-specific care. Cameron leads the strategic business efforts and oversees national business development and partnership growth. She brings over 20 years of results-oriented leadership and innovative experience to Ms. Medicine. Ms. Medicine recently opened a Dayton office. 

Formerly, Cameron served as the System Vice President of Business Development for Premier Health, in Dayton, Ohio. In this role, she was responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the north, south and east markets. While at Premier Health, she also served as System Vice President of Service Integration for the Oncology, Neuroscience and Spine Institutes as well as System Director of Operational Innovation.

Before her career at Premier Health, Cameron gained extensive experience consulting with health systems across the country to enhance physician engagement and alignment. Prior to consulting, she worked for Mercy Health in a variety of business development, physician relations, and nursing roles. Cameron’s clinical specialty is high risk obstetrics.

Cameron holds a Master of Science in Nursing and Health Systems Management from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia. She is board-certified by the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Cameron is a sought-after national speaker on physician engagement and alignment as well the development of high-performing teams. She is a recipient of the 2015 Dayton Business Journal Forty Under Forty Award as well as the 2016 Tiller Hewitt Healthcare Strategies Legend Award.


These four join Barbara Mills, Phil Black, David Brixey, John Keighley, Tiffany Kellner, and Sam Warwar. Gala of Hope lost its founder and charter board member, Bob Mills, with his passing in 2020. “Bob was extremely focused on Gala of Hope broadening its scope and depth of leadership to assure a lasting influence in the Dayton region. These four new board members take an already seasoned, dynamic leadership team to even greater heights, positioning Gala of Hope to make an even more significant difference for cancer patients,” said Brock. 

Since its founding in 2014, Gala of Hope has invested over $5 million in local cancer treatment, patient support, and research, influencing over 26,000 cancer patients.
