Cancer takes a toll on the entire body - and proper nutrition is a critical but often overlooked part of healing. At Premier Health, oncology patients now have expanded access to personalized nutrition support thanks in part to a grant from the Gala of Hope Foundation.

Malnutrition is a common and serious complication for cancer patients, affecting up to 80% during treatment. It can weaken the immune system, reduce treatment tolerance, and lead to poorer outcomes. Yet access to certified oncology dietitians is limited in many outpatient settings, and typically not covered by insurance.

Gala of Hope’s funding supports Premier’s first-of-its-kind Oncology Nutrition Clinic, which provides expert guidance on managing symptoms like nausea, weight loss, or difficulty eating. Serving up to 3,400 patients each year, the Clinic offers one-on-one consultations tailored to each individual - helping them build strength, avoid treatment delays, and improve their quality of life.
