Meet Linda Black-Kurek - Gala of Hope Foundation Board Member and Treasurer!
May 23, 2025

Linda is the President of Liberty Nursing Centers and brings decades of leadership experience to our Board. She holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Communication from Wright State University and earned her Master’s in Health Administration from the University of Colorado.
Linda’s impact in the Dayton region is extensive. She currently serves as Chair of the Board for the Wright State University Foundation and as Treasurer for the Dayton Art Institute. Her past leadership roles include serving as Board President for the Ohio Health Care Association, Dayton Children’s Hospital, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley. In 2023, Linda was honored as National Philanthropy Day’s Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year.
As a cancer survivor, Linda brings both passion and purpose to her work with Gala of Hope:
“The Foundation helps patients while they are going through treatment, and supports research to better treat, or someday prevent cancer. I’ve chosen to invest in this mission, and would encourage others to do the same, because your funds will be put to good use and make a difference right here in the Dayton region.”
Thank you, Linda, for your leadership, your generosity, and your heart for this mission.
